I say they’re honest because they let you know upfront that making money with blogging takes months as you build up your readership. They also let you know that making money depends on what you blog about–certain topics are more well loved than others, and certain topics have tons of people writing about them already. They even give a list of topics that are a excellent thought if you want to make money. After you write a few posts, they generally will offer to set you up with your own domain with no charge. They also do things to help promote your blog, such as list you on the homepage when you first sign up, list you in the updated blogs section, list you on the same page of a blog that is similar in focus as yours, etc.

   So, the other suggestions given here are right–blog your passion, update your blog regularly, get your own domain. Orble is the best I’ve seen so far that helps you do those things and have a shot of getting paid.
